After all the time, effort & money I went through in taking, editing and converting that pack-'em-in video, it's amazing how often it's been stolen!  Time to try again...?

So - I've make a slightly longer version and am reposting it - on YouTube this time (last time was only on Google Video):

Question - I guess it's not possible to embed a video in this post?  Or is it?  I'll try here:

Whenever you're filming, get some guy to hold up a piece of card with your name and the copyright symbol in the bottom left corner of the frame. He might have to move around a bit.

Attach it to the camera... by lylehsaxon (2.00 / 0) #7 Sun May 18, 2008 at 04:50:59 AM EST
... it would be out of focus and destroy part of the picture - all the time, but - hey - it would be marked....

I want to do that... what software do I need? by lylehsaxon (2.00 / 0) #5 Sat May 17, 2008 at 11:38:57 PM EST
I'm using Corel VideoStudeo-11 (I have the upgrade for 12 but haven't installed it yet).  Do you know offhand if it has that feature?  I have the Japanese-language edition of the software and while I can read Japanese - to a point - it makes learning new features more difficult than would be the case with English.

Wow. by toxicfur (2.00 / 0) #2 Sat May 17, 2008 at 09:57:23 AM EST
Just, wow. I've always been pretty impressed that the Boston subways are rarely very crowded (though more now as gas prices are increasing), but we aren't even close to that. I'm really not sure I could bear taking a train there.

It's usually not quite that bad... by lylehsaxon (4.00 / 1) #4 Sat May 17, 2008 at 11:35:23 PM EST
It's usually not quite that bad.  That was in 1991 and since then, they've added trains and built some new lines, etc.  Another bit of background I probably should have mentioned is that the Seibu Railway Company is notorious for dragging their feet on new construction.  All the private lines in Tokyo were given permission to raise their fares in... about... 1986 I think it was.  The Keio Line got to work and rapidly improved their service, but the bloody Seibu Line did almost nothing at all for almost ten years - they just banked the money, the bas*ards!

More important than capacity though, has been flextime, although with the economy worsening, more companies are going back to rigid "Be here by 9:00 or else!" routines, which will generate increased pressure levels in the trains.
